George Stanger

George Stanger arrived at Kilmarnock as a defender. Born in Melrose, he started out at Stirling Albion before Hamilton Academical signed him in 2018, and the following years were shaped by a string of loan spells away from the club — to Stirling Albion, East Kilbride and Forfar Athletic. He made eight senior appearances for Hamilton before that stage of his career came to an end.

A switch to the University of Stirling in 2021 kept him playing senior football while a loan to Dumbarton the following year.

Kilmarnock signed him on a free transfer in the summer of 2025 on a two-year deal, and he has since scored twice for the club. Alongside his domestic career, Stanger has represented New Zealand at youth level, earning four caps at Under-20 level and further appearances at Under-23 level, including selection for the squad at the Tokyo Olympics. Late in 2025 he received a call-up to the senior New Zealand squad, though he is yet to add a first cap at that level.
