About the player
Heinz Robert Mörschel was born in Santo Domingo and holds dual Dominican and German citizenship. He joined 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 2012. He worked his way into the Mainz reserve side, then spent the following years moving club to club on free transfers — Holstein Kiel, Preußen Münster, KFC Uerdingen 05 and Dynamo Dresden. At Dresden, he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances and won the 3. Liga title in 2020–21.
A spell in Hungary with Újpest FC followed, before Mörschel moved to Portugal in August 2024 to join F.C. Vizela on a free transfer. He scored 11 goals in 31 appearances in his first Liga Portugal 2 season, then 13 more the following campaign, enough to finish as the division's third-highest scorer. He was named in the Liga Portugal 2 Team of the Year and picked up Player of the Month awards for August and February.
For the Dominican Republic, Mörschel has been just as prolific since his debut in September 2023, scoring nine goals in 23 caps. He struck twice in a 5–0 win over Barbados in October 2023, and again netted a brace against Dominica in the 2024–25 CONCACAF Nations League.
