Antonio Gomis

Antonio Gomis came through Atlético Madrid's academy without ever forcing his way past the club's senior goalkeepers. Born in Elche, he started out at CF Celtic Elche and Elche CF before a spell in Real Madrid's youth ranks and a year at UD Almería, then joined Atlético's academy in July 2019. He worked his way up to Atlético Madrid B for the 2021–22 season and made 52 league appearances there across the Tercera Federación, Segunda Federación and Primera Federación.

His first-team debut came on 4 June 2023, when he was brought on as a substitute in a La Liga match against Villarreal. It remained his only senior appearance for the club: with Jan Oblak established as first choice and competition from goalkeepers such as Antonio Gaja, Gazzaniga and Grbić, Gomis stayed third in the pecking order for the rest of his time at the club. One pre-season match stood out for a different reason — a teammate's red card forced him into an outfield role rather than his usual position.

He also had a brief look from the Spain set-up, training with the under-19s in January 2022, though he never earned an official cap at that level.

In June 2025, Gomis left Atlético Madrid as a free agent. He signed a two-year contract with Portuguese side Vizela, then playing in Liga Portugal 2.
