About the player
He was on the pitch for the win that took NK Varaždin up. On 28 May 2022 Canjuga made his senior debut in a 3–2 victory over Dubrava.
Three months later he left for NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, where the first season was spent with the youth and reserve side before promotion to the senior squad. His HNL debut followed on 3 November 2023, and that campaign gave him his fullest run in Zagreb: 16 league appearances. Five the following season, four in the one after, with a single goal across the three years. He was part of the Lokomotiva squad that reached the Croatian Cup final in 2024–25.
The contract was terminated on 12 January 2026 and Canjuga returned to Varaždin permanently, signing until 31 December 2028. The change in role was immediate. He has started regularly since coming back, finishing the 2025–26 season with 22 appearances, and has scored three goals in his first five outings of 2026–27. He is used in midfield and on the left flank.
Croatia have called him up at under-21 level, where he has won four caps and featured in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying, including the match against Hungary in September 2026.
