About the player
Josué Kongolo joined KRC Genk's academy in 2015 after starting out at Lierse SK. He signed his first professional contract with Genk in June 2022, extended it through 2026 the following year, and has since put pen to paper on a deal running to 2028.
Kongolo worked his way up through Jong Genk, the club's reserve side in the Challenger Pro League, before making his first-team debut on 26 May 2024 against Union Saint-Gilloise.
At international level, Kongolo has moved through Belgium's youth ranks, from the under-16s through to the under-19s. A senior cap has yet to follow.
