Juan Sigala's first senior appearance did not need padding out for effect: sent on against Tijuana on 16 March 2025, he scored in the 90th minute, becoming only the fourth player in Pachuca's history to score on his debut. The academy had had him since 2018, and the goal announced, in the most direct way possible, that the wait was over.

Born in Delicias, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, Sigala works as a midfielder or right winger, favouring his left foot despite operating mostly on the opposite flank — the kind of asymmetry that lets him cut inside rather than chase the byline. At 1.72 metres, he is not built to overpower defenders physically, and his debut goal suggested instead a player who reads the moment.

His path through Pachuca's youth system ran seven years before that breakthrough, the usual apprenticeship of a player waiting for a first-team opening rather than being fast-tracked into one. The goal against Tijuana changed that calculus, though it did not immediately convert into a settled first-team role.

In 2026, Pachuca sent him out on loan to FC Juárez, with an obligation to buy built into the deal — a structure that points to a club confident enough in what it is releasing to commit to a permanent transfer regardless of how the loan spell goes. At Juárez he wears the number 16 shirt.
