FC Juarez

That story began on 29 May 2015, when a group of businessmen led by Alejandra de la Vega set up FC Juárez to take the place of the city's former club, Indios de Ciudad Juárez, after that team folded. The new side went straight into Ascenso MX, the Mexican second division, and did not wait long to make a mark: in its first year it won the Apertura 2015 title, beating Potros de Hierro del Atlante 3-1 on aggregate, losing the away leg 1-0 before winning 3-0 at home.

Promotion to the top flight took longer to arrive. Juárez reached the Ascenso MX playoff final again in the Apertura 2017 but lost out to Alebrijes de Oaxaca. The route up finally opened in 2019, when Liga MX restructured its promotion rules and Juárez bought the franchise rights of Lobos BUAP, the Puebla club founded in 1967. Lobos BUAP was dissolved, and Juárez took its place among Mexico's elite while staying put in Ciudad Juárez.

In Liga MX itself the Braves have yet to add a trophy to that 2015 title. Their best run in the Copa Mexico stopped at the semi-final stage, in the 2020 tie against Monterrey. The team plays in green at home and black away, wearing the nickname Los Bravos on both.

Alejandra de la Vega remains the name most tied to the club's existence.
