Jonas Svensson

Jonas Svensson came through Levanger FK before joining Rosenborg BK in 2009, and it was only in 2014 that the club moved him from midfield to right-back. He was named Eliteserien Defender of the Year in both 2015 and 2016, seasons in which Rosenborg won the Eliteserien title and the Norwegian Cup. In April 2016 he became the youngest player in the club's history to reach 200 appearances.

AZ Alkmaar signed him in January 2017 for around €1.7 million, and he went on to make 119 league appearances in Eredivisie, earning the division's Player of the Month award in January 2018. A free transfer took him to Adana Demirspor in July 2021, where he played 76 league matches before moving on to Beşiktaş.

At Beşiktaş, Svensson added the Turkish Cup in the 2023–24 season and the Turkish Super Cup in 2024 to his honours, across 46 league appearances for the club. In January 2026 he returned to Rosenborg on a two-year contract.

For Norway, Svensson collected 23 caps between 2015 and 2021, having also come through the youth ranks from under-15 to under-21 level. His only international goal came against Gibraltar in a 3–0 win during 2022 World Cup qualification, on 24 March 2021.
