József Windecker

József Windecker was born in Szeged and started out in the youth ranks at Soltvadkert. He turned professional at Győri ETO, and it was a loan to Paksi FC in the 2013–2014 season that first put him at the club where he would later build his career.

After a permanent move to Újpest in January 2016 and a spell in Greece with Levadiakos, Windecker returned to Hungary in February 2019 to join Paksi FC. In August 2023 he signed a new three-year contract with the club, and reports in October 2025 pointed to a further extension keeping him there until 2028.

At Paksi, Windecker has become the club's leading scorer in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, passing 170 appearances and more than 30 league goals, with nine in the 2023–24 season and six the following campaign. He has won the Magyar Kupa three times, once with Újpest in 2017–18 and twice more with Paksi, in 2023–24 and 2024–25. In the 2024–25 final against Ferencvárosi TC, played on 14 May 2025, the match finished 1–1 before Paksi won it 4–3 on penalties; Windecker started the game and scored the side's first spot-kick.

He represented Hungary at youth level, with caps for the U19, U20 and U21 sides and a goal for the U21s, without going on to add a senior international appearance.
