Bálint Máté Vécsei

Bálint Vécsei's finest moment for Paks came from the penalty spot: on 14 May 2025 he scored the winning kick in the shootout that beat Ferencváros in the Magyar Kupa final. He joined Paks in 2024 after a short spell in Japan with Vissel Kobe, where he had added a J1 League title to his collection before leaving in December 2023.

Born in Miskolc, the left-footed midfielder came through at Budapest Honvéd, where he made 90 league appearances and scored nine goals between 2011 and 2015. A move to Bologna followed, though he never featured for the Italian club's first team and spent the 2015–16 season on loan at Lecce in Serie C. His career found its footing back on loan, this time in Switzerland with Lugano, a move that became permanent in 2018 and kept him there until 2020.

The transfer to Ferencváros in 2020 marked the peak of his career in Hungary. Across three seasons he won four consecutive Nemzeti Bajnokság I titles and the Magyar Kupa in 2021–22, establishing himself as a key player before his move to Japan.

At international level, Vécsei has earned caps for Hungary's senior side, scoring against San Marino during 2022 World Cup qualification and against Bulgaria during Euro 2024 qualification. He also came through the Hungarian youth system at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
