About the player
Jykese Fields was born in Minot, North Dakota. His path into the game ran through smaller German clubs, FC Germania Hütschenhausen and FK 03 Pirmasens, before a short spell at Isleham United and three years in the Norwich City academy between 2020 and 2023. He then returned to Germany as a free agent, joining TSG Hoffenheim's under-17 setup.
Fields worked his way through the Hoffenheim youth ranks and signed his first professional contract in January 2026, running to the summer of 2030. He made his senior debut for TSG Hoffenheim II in the 3. Liga in 2025.
His international story has taken a turn. Fields was capped twice for the United States at under-19 level, scoring twice in October 2024, before switching allegiance to Germany. With the German under-19 side he has since won 11 caps and scored twice, and he was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. At club level he was in the Hoffenheim side that won the German Under-19 Bundesliga, and he scored 18 goals for the under-19 team in the 2025/26 season. Norwich City tried to bring him back to England in 2026, but Hoffenheim turned down the approach.
