Hoffenheim II

The Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion sits on Peter-Hofmann-Weg in the Hoffenheim district of Sinsheim, and it holds 6,350 people — but only 3,000 of them sit down. The rest stand, on terracing that has watched this side climb through five divisions.

The climb started in 2000/01, in the Landesliga Nordbaden II, the sixth tier. They won it, went up, then finished second in the Verbandsliga Nordbaden twice running before the promotion finally came. Seven seasons followed in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg — a second place in 2008/09, then first in 2009/10 — and after that came thirteen years in the Regionalliga, first Süd, then Südwest from 2012. Thirteen seasons is a long time to spend at one level. In 2024/25 they won it and went up to the 3. Liga for the first time.

The derby is against FC-Astoria Walldorf, twenty minutes up the road, and it carries a formal name: the Kurpfalz/Kraichgau-Derby. Kraichgau is the region, which is also where the other nickname comes from — Die Kraichgauer, though around Sinsheim they mostly say Hoffe zwo.

What passes through here is players. Pascal Groß and Jonas Hofmann both came through; Gregor Kobel kept goal here. Stefan Kutschke turned out in the 3. Liga season of 2020/21.

There is no founding year of its own to give. The side is a department of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, which came into being on 1 July 1899, and it wears the same blue and white, the same badge, the same shirt. Everything it has won, it has won under someone else's crest.
