About the player
Juan Tiago Esteban Poller was born in Apartadó, Colombia, and moved to Germany at the age of three. He picked up the game at TGV Eintracht Beilstein, where he reportedly scored 147 goals in a single season as a small child, before spells at SGV Freiberg, Stuttgarter Kickers and the VfB Stuttgart academy carried him through the youth ranks. At twelve, he transferred into TSG Hoffenheim's academy, progressing through the U13, U14 and U19 sides and featuring in the DFB-Junioren-Bundesliga and the UEFA Youth League during the 2024/25 season.
That development earned him a professional contract extension with Hoffenheim in May 2025, running until at least 2027, and for the 2025/26 season he was promoted to Hoffenheim II in the 3. Liga.
Born in Colombia, Poller chose to represent Germany internationally, working his way through the youth setup from U15 to U19 level. He captained the German U16 side and was named a "DFB-Juwel", a distinction reserved for outstanding young talents. He has earned six caps for the U17 team, scoring once, and seven for the U19s, having taken part in UEFA U17 European Championship qualifiers and the UEFA U19 European Championship.
A right-footed midfielder used centrally or in a defensive role, Poller now moves into senior third-tier football with Hoffenheim II.
