Kavier Vicente Ortiz Cortéz

Kavier Ortiz signed with SD Aucas in 2020 and spent three seasons there before his career took him abroad, through Venezuelan football with Inter de Barinas and on to Estudiantes de Mérida in Venezuela. From there the winger moved to Spain, joining Atlético Albacete, where he was assigned to the club's B side in September 2023 before working his way toward first-team football.

Ortiz now plays on loan from Albacete at Metropolitanos FC in Venezuela, wearing the number 9 shirt. The loan move added another stop to a career that has taken the Esmeraldas-born forward through three countries in the space of a few years, a path that has shaped him into a player equally at home in South American and Spanish football environments.

Primarily deployed as a left winger, Ortiz has also featured as a forward and, at times, further back in midfield, giving his coaches flexibility in how they use him going forward on the left side of the pitch. That versatility, combined with experience gained across Ecuadorian, Venezuelan and Spanish football, has been a feature of his development since leaving Aucas.
