About the player
Kilian Ludewig came through the youth ranks in his native Hamburg, at Barsbütteler SV and Willinghusener SC, before FC St. Pauli took him on and RB Leipzig signed him in 2015. He was on the books when Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga and Cup in 2018–19, though he did not feature in either the league campaign or the cup final that season.
What followed was a run of loans that took him around Europe. Barnsley had him in the Championship in 2020, Schalke 04 brought him to the Bundesliga later that year until a metatarsal fracture ended the spell early, Willem II gave him a brief run in the Eredivisie, and AaB took him to Denmark, where he made 19 league appearances and reached the Danish Cup final, though he did not play in it. A season on loan at TSV 1860 Munich in the 3. Liga followed before his Salzburg contract was terminated by mutual consent in July 2024.
Internationally, Ludewig worked his way through Germany's youth teams, from the U16s up to a single U21 cap, without a call-up to the senior side.
At Petrolul Ploiești, he has found more regular football, with 15 league appearances and a goal to his name as of July 2026.
