Kornél Szűcs

The debut came with a notice attached. Kornél Szűcs played his first senior match for Diósgyőri VTK against Mezőkövesd in May 2019, and Nemzeti Sport named him Best Player of the Round for it. The following June the same paper put him in its Round's Team. He had been at the Diósgyőr academy since 2012, and the club sent him out to Kazincbarcikai SC between 2019 and 2021 — 16 appearances, one goal — while he also built up 47 games and three goals for the reserve side.

He left on a free transfer to Kecskeméti TE in June 2023 and reached the 2023–24 Hungarian Cup final with them. Kecskemét lost it to Ferencváros on penalties.

England followed in August 2024, when Plymouth Argyle signed him for an undisclosed fee, reported at around £400,000. He spent a season in the Championship and part of another in League One, 65 appearances in all, 57 of them in the league. He did not score in any of them. His one assist came against Luton Town in January 2026, a month before he left.

The move to Vojvodina in February 2026 cost the Serbian club €500,000, with Plymouth keeping a sell-on clause. Thirteen appearances have followed by August 2026, and the goal he could not find in England arrived in the Serbian Cup.

Szűcs won three caps for Hungary's under-21s across 2020 and 2021. His senior debut came on 14 October 2024 against Bosnia and Herzegovina; as of June 2026 he had two senior caps.
