About the player
Leo Andersson is a homegrown product of IFK Mariehamn, having joined the club's youth academy in 2020 after coming through KyIF and FC Kirkkonummi. He broke into the senior squad in the 2022/2023 season and has stayed with the club ever since, with contract extensions signed in August 2024 and again in March 2026, the latter running through the 2026 campaign.
In the Veikkausliiga, Andersson has made 57 appearances for IFK Mariehamn between 2022 and 2026, with both of his league goals coming in 2025 — among them a strike against AC Oulu on 17 May that year. He has added 11 appearances in the Finnish Cup, scoring once in 2023.
Andersson has also represented the Åland Islands on the international stage, playing at the 2023 Island Games in Guernsey, where the team finished 13th.
