Ludwig Richtner

Richtnér grew up playing for Huddinge IF, his mother club, before joining IF Elfsborg's academy in the summer of 2021. His path through the club carries a personal thread: his grandfather was a long-time supporter of Elfsborg, and the defender progressed through the U17 and U19 sides before signing his first professional contract in December 2023.

His Allsvenskan debut came as a substitute against Västerås SK. European football followed quickly: he made his continental debut in the UEFA Europa League against OGC Nice and also featured in the group stage against Tottenham Hotspur. In February 2025, Elfsborg rewarded him with a contract extension running to the end of 2027.

With first-team minutes hard to come by at Elfsborg, the club sent him out on loan to Superettan side Örebro SK for the second half of 2025. He made 11 appearances there and helped the team avoid relegation. He returned to Elfsborg before the end of the year, only to be loaned out again, this time to IFK Mariehamn in Finland's Veikkausliiga for the 2026 season.

Richtnér has not yet been capped by Sweden at senior level, and his career so far has been built through steady academy development rather than headline moments — a defender whose progress has come loan by loan.
