In October 2019, playing against Bahia, Luiz Otávio scored both goals in a 2–1 win.
He came through the academy at Paraná Clube and made his professional debut there, remaining on the books with interruptions from 2016 to 2019. In 2019 Paraná sold him to Tombense . The fee was not disclosed, though it was reported that the money helped the club clear debts owed to its staff.
Between 2019 and 2021 he was loaned out repeatedly — to Botafogo in Rio, then to Barra FC — before joining Confiança in 2022.
He was once Ceará 's record holder for appearances in Brazil's Série A.
