Miguel Almeida's path to Sporting CP started away from the pitch: before switching to eleven-a-side football at Sacavenense, he played futsal at Infantado. He joined Sporting's academy in 2017, at the age of ten, and grew into one of the leading names of the club's group of players born in 2007, often described as a golden generation.

His breakthrough season came in 2025/2026, when he finished as top scorer of the Campeonato Nacional U19 in the South division with 22 goals in 17 matches. He also featured in the UEFA Youth League with Sporting's U19 side, scoring once, and said afterwards that the experience had been a positive one for his development. That campaign also saw Sporting reach the championship phase of the Campeonato Nacional de Juniores.

Almeida signed his first professional contract with Sporting CP in June 2024 and renewed it two years later, in June 2026. That renewal preceded his promotion to Sporting CP B, where he now competes in Liga Portugal 2 alongside the club's under-23 squad. Having come through entirely within Sporting's youth system, his career so far carries no transfer fees.

He has named Paulinho as his idol.
