About the player
Mikey Booth is a product of Motherwell's own academy, having come through the club's youth ranks — Under-20s included — without ever appearing for another senior side. He was named Player of the Match for the Under-20s in a Scottish Youth Cup tie against Ross County.
Motherwell backed that judgement with a first professional contract, then extended it in May 2025 and again after the 2025–26 season. That came in July 2026, in a UEFA Conference League fixture against the Faroese side HB — his European debut. He went on to make his Scottish Premiership debut in the same 2026/27 season, and by August had taken part in six first-team appearances in all competitions, one of them in the league, without yet scoring.
He plays as a central midfielder and has come through the Scottish youth setup on the international side.
