Mateusz Andrzej Klich

Klich began his career at his hometown club, KS Cracovia, making his senior debut in 2008 as a product of the club's own academy. In June 2011 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg for a fee of €1.5 million, but he spent most of that spell with the reserve side and never broke into the first team. A loan to PEC Zwolle in January 2013 turned into a permanent move that summer, and it was there that he won the KNVB Cup in 2013–14. Wolfsburg brought him back in 2014 through a repurchase option, though again he was confined to the reserves, before further moves took him to 1. FC Kaiserslautern and then FC Twente.

His move to Leeds United in June 2017 became the defining spell of his career. Back at Leeds, he was named the club's Goal of the Season for 2018–19 and won the EFL Championship Goal of the Month for November 2019, before helping the side win the Championship title in 2019–20 and secure promotion to the Premier League.

In January 2023 he left for Major League Soccer, joining D.C. United as a Designated Player, and in December 2024 was traded to Atlanta United. He was waived by Atlanta in July 2025 and returned to KS Cracovia the following month on a two-year contract. Internationally, Klich earned 41 caps for Poland between 2011 and 2022, scoring twice — against Denmark in August 2013 and against the Republic of Ireland in September 2018 — and was part of the Poland squad at UEFA Euro 2020. He is regarded as the most valuable player in Cracovia's history.
