About the player
Matias Siltanen came through KuPS's academy in Kuopio, joining in 2022. His breakthrough came in 2024, when he made 27 appearances in the Veikkausliiga and scored his first senior goal, establishing himself as a regular in the Finnish top flight.
That form carried him abroad. In January 2025, Djurgårdens IF signed the midfielder, moving him into Swedish football. By the middle of the following year had made more than 40 appearances for Djurgården.
Siltanen's rise has been mirrored at international level. He progressed through Finland's youth ranks from under-15 to under-21 level, including five goals in nine appearances for the under-21 side. In May 2025, he earned a first call-up to Finland's senior squad, named for World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Poland.
Now with Djurgården, he continues to build on the platform established during his time at KuPS.
