About the player
Randers FC took Sjølstad on a pre-contract in September 2025. The move became a free transfer once his contract in Sogndal ran out at the turn of the year, and he signed a deal running into the middle of the decade.
The left-back's path to Danish football ran through several Norwegian clubs rather than one academy. He made his name at Follo before a free move to Strømmen, then joined Kristiansund, who loaned him out to Kongsvinger for part of a season before he returned. Sogndal picked him up in 2023, a switch the selling club later called a good sale without putting a figure on it.
None of that time has yet brought a call-up to Norway's national side, nor a major trophy.
