Mike Vestergård

Mike Vestergaard has moved between clubs on free transfers throughout his career, a pattern that has taken him from Danish regional football to a Norwegian top-flight side and back. He started out at Lystrup IF before joining Aarhus Fremad in 2016, where he stayed for close to four years. A free move took him to Kolding IF at the start of 2020, and he remained there for five seasons before Sarpsborg 08 signed him for the Norwegian Eliteserien in early 2025 — sources differ on whether the deal was struck in December 2024 or confirmed in February 2025, but either way it marked his first move outside Denmark.

His stay in Norway was brief. By July 2025 Vestergaard was back in Denmark, joining Superliga club Vejle Boldklub, with the fee again undisclosed.

At Vejle he found himself involved in a run through the DBU Pokalen. The side reached the final of the 2025–26 competition, where they fell 0–1 to FC Midtjylland in May 2026. Getting there had not been straightforward: in the quarter-finals, Vejle were beaten 4–1 away by Viborg FF before a 0–1 home defeat left them out on aggregate — the tie went the other side's way rather than Vejle's, yet the club still progressed to the final through the rest of the draw.

Vestergaard has not been capped by Denmark at senior international level.
