About the player
Ioniță made his senior debut for Petrolul Ploiești on 1 August 2022, in a Liga I match against Oțelul Galați. He came through Petrolul's own academy and was part of the squad that won the Liga II title in the 2021–22 season, though he did not feature in the league for the first team that campaign.
Since that early breakthrough, his path has run mostly through loans. He spent the 2023–24 season at Cetatea Turnu Măgurele, moved on to Unirea Ungheni in 2024, then to CSA Steaua București for the 2025 season, and is currently out on loan at CS Afumați for 2025–26. Across his senior career he has recorded five appearances for Petrolul — four in SuperLiga and one in Cupa României — without yet scoring a goal or providing an assist.
At international level, Ioniță has represented Romania at under-15 level, winning three caps and scoring once. He has not received a call-up to the senior national side.
