About the player
Marius Söderbäck made his name in Finnish football through Käpylän Pallo, where he came through the club's Kakkonen and Ykkönen campaigns with 13 goals in 41 league appearances. That form earned him a move to Ilves in August 2023. He went on to become a regular fixture in Tampere, making 63 league appearances and scoring nine goals, and he extended his contract with the club in August 2024 as Ilves finished as Veikkausliiga runners-up that season.
Söderbäck also made an impression on the European stage, scoring in Conference League qualifying matches against Austria Wien and AZ Alkmaar.
In February 2026 he left Finland for Sweden, signing a three-year deal with Kalmar FF after the club bought out the remainder of his Ilves contract. The move has yet to produce a goal return: by July 2026 he had made eleven league appearances for his new club without finding the net.
At international level, Söderbäck progressed through Finland's youth sides at U18 and U19 before establishing himself at U21, where he started every match of the 2025–26 European Championship qualifying campaign and had scored four goals in nine caps by March 2026. He has not yet been called up to the senior national team.
