Mattis Seghers

Anderlecht called Mattis Seghers into the first-team training camp in January 2026, when he was still sixteen. The invitation came despite reported interest from Manchester City and Monaco, clubs that had taken notice of the goalkeeper.

He remains a product of the club's academy, and the first-team involvement so far has been limited to a place on the bench: he was named among the substitutes for the match against Gent on 12 April 2026, a game Anderlecht lost 3-1, but did not come on. His football has been played almost entirely at RSCA Futures, the club's farm team in the Challenger Pro League. In the 2026/2027 season he started against Patro Eisden, conceding twice in a 2-1 defeat.

The clearest mark he has left so far came with Belgium's under-17 side. Seghers was first-choice goalkeeper as the team went through the European Under-17 Championship in June 2026, and he started in the final against Italy.

At club level, his numbers are still being written mostly in the second tier rather than the top flight. For now, his path runs through RSCA Futures, with the international final against Italy standing as the clearest evidence of his potential.
