Mohamed Koné

Mohamed Koné's route to Charleroi's goal ran through Le Havre's academy, where he spent three seasons with Le Havre B in the Championnat National 3, making 41 appearances, and signed his first professional contract in July 2022. Even so, despite being registered with the senior squad from 2021, he never played a Ligue 1 minute for the club — he was a squad member when Le Havre won the Ligue 2 title in 2022–23, but took no part in the league campaign itself.

A loan to USL Dunkerque in January 2024 gave him his first sustained taste of senior football, with 15 appearances in Ligue 2 before the season was out. That run convinced Charleroi to make the move permanent: on 2 July 2024 Koné signed a three-year deal with the Belgian club, with an option for a fourth season, for an undisclosed fee. He quickly became the club's starting goalkeeper.

On the international stage, Koné has been tied to Ivory Coast since underage level, having previously represented the country's U23 side. His first senior call-up came in March 2022 for friendlies against France and England, though he stayed on the bench for both. He was named in the squad again for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in October 2024 and has since been included among the options for the 2026 World Cup, but a senior debut has yet to arrive.
