Ryan Don Naderi

Naderi's move to Rangers on transfer deadline day, 3 February 2026, did not come easily. Hansa Rostock initially refused to sell, and it took intervention from Rangers' ownership group, 49ers Enterprises, and sporting director Andrew Cavenagh to push the deal through for a fee reported between £4.7 million and €5.5 million — a record sale out of the 3. Liga. He signed a contract running until 31 May 2031.

Naderi came through the youth system at SG Dresden Striesen before joining Dynamo Dresden in 2015, where he progressed through the U17 and U19 Bundesliga sides. A move to Borussia Mönchengladbach followed in 2021, and he broke into their reserve team, making his Regionalliga West debut in January 2022 and going on to score 10 goals in 53 appearances for the side.

It was at Hansa Rostock, whom he joined on a free transfer in August 2024, that he established himself. He scored 5 goals in 27 appearances in his first season as Hansa won the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Cup, and improved to 8 goals in 18 league appearances in 2025–26, earning Player of the Matchday honours twice in the 3. Liga. That form was repeatedly interrupted by serious muscle injuries.

He made his Rangers debut on 5 February 2026 against Kilmarnock, and three days later scored twice as Rangers beat Queens Park 8–0 in the Scottish Cup. Another serious muscle injury, sustained against Dundee United in April 2026, has since threatened to keep him out for the remainder of the season. Naderi remains uncapped at senior international level, though Bulgaria made an approach in March 2026.
