Sámuel Major

Sámuel Major's development ran through Hungary's national age-group system as much as through his clubs. Weeks later he did the same at the Under-17 World Cup that year, appearing in every group match and converting a penalty in a 2-4 defeat to Nigeria.

His club career began in the Debrecen academy before a move into the Red Bull Salzburg system in 2017, where he progressed through the youth ranks and made his senior debut for the feeder club Liefering in June 2020. A switch to Admira Wacker in Austria in January 2022 brought Bundesliga football, and it was there, in a match against WAC, that he was singled out as man of the match after winning 23 individual duels.

He returned to Hungary that summer with Debrecen, followed by a loan to Pécs and then a longer spell at Kozármisleny, where he made close to sixty league appearances.

At Varna he has worn the number 19 shirt and made four appearances so far, picking up a single yellow card. Major is right-footed and has mostly featured on the right side of defence or midfield across his career.
