Opex Samuel

Samuel Opex's route to Kazakhstan began at the Ace FA academy in Nigeria. He followed it a year later with the Nigeria U-20 side, before turning professional at home with Warri Wolves, where he spent five years learning the game as a senior player.

The move that reshaped his career came in 2020, when he left Nigeria for Uzbekistan to join Oqtepa. He was trusted with the captain's armband there, making 13 appearances in his only season before Lokomotiv Tashkent came in for him in 2021. At Lokomotiv he stayed three seasons, featuring in both the Uzbekistan Super League and, after the club's relegation, the Pro League, and accumulating 23 appearances along the way.

In 2024 he left Central Asia for the Albanian Superliga, signing for FC Lachi and playing 31 times in the 2024–25 season. That form carried him to Irtysh Pavlodar, where he has settled quickly into the Kazakhstan Premier League: he has made between six and eight appearances since joining, without a goal or assist so far and with one yellow card to his name.

Despite that early promise with Nigeria's youth sides, Opex has not added caps at senior international level, and his career has instead been built steadily across three different leagues and countries.
