About the player
Rio de Janeiro raised Henrique Simeone through Botafogo's academy, where he moved up through the youth sides from Sub-15 to Sub-20 without breaking into the first team. The move that changed his career came in September 2025, when, still a teenager, he left for Mexican football as a free agent, signing for Tigres UANL while Botafogo kept a sell-on percentage on any future transfer.
He started at Tigres in the reserve squad before working into the first-team picture, and made his senior debut in March 2026 away to Tijuana. The switch put him alongside André-Pierre Gignac at a club with genuine continental pedigree, a step up he took at an age when most Brazilian midfielders are still fighting for minutes back home.
Simeone plays as a holding midfielder, and his form in Mexico has already earned recognition beyond club level: he has represented Brazil's Sub-20 side, with six caps to date. Tigres UANL now list him with squad number 34.
