Simone Verdi

Simone Verdi has a Serie A winner's medal from Milan's 2010/11 season without having played a minute for the club. He joined the academy in 2003 from the amateur side Audax Travacò and stayed on the books for thirteen years, formally registered with the first-team squad in 2010/11 and again in 2015/16, but never appeared for them in Serie A. In 2011 Milan and Torino agreed to share his registration under Italy's co-ownership rules, with Gianmario Comi and €150,000 moving the other way; Milan bought the half back for €450,000 in 2015.

The football happened elsewhere. A loan to Juve Stabia in 2013 brought 20 matches, and a longer spell at Empoli produced 66 appearances and six goals across Serie B and Serie A. Nine games in La Liga with Eibar followed, then eight at Carpi with three goals.

Bologna signed him in 2016: 16 goals in 62 matches. That form took him to Napoli in the summer of 2018 for €25m on a five-year contract. He made 22 appearances and scored three goals before Napoli sent him to Torino in 2019 on loan with an obligation to buy. He played 70 matches for Torino and scored four, with loans out to Salernitana (15 matches, five goals) and Hellas Verona (25 matches, five goals) in 2022.

He left Torino as a free agent when his contract was terminated in 2023 and signed for Como. On loan at Sassuolo, he won the Serie B title in 2024/25. Verdi played eight times for Italy's under-19s and five for the under-21s, and won four senior caps between 2017 and 2018.
