Stefan Mitrović

The move that set Stefan Mitrović's career going was written into his contract: in July 2022 he triggered an exit clause at FK Radnički Niš, and Red Star Belgrade paid €500,000 to take him to Belgrade. Within a season he had a Serbian SuperLiga title and a Serbian Cup, and his displays in Champions League qualifying drew notice.

He had arrived at Radnički from Hamilton City, where he spent 2018 and 2019 in the Canadian Soccer League, and made his professional debut in November 2019. The Red Star spell lasted until February 2024, when Hellas Verona signed him for around €1.3 million.

Italy has been less settled. Verona sent him out on loan three times in under two years: to OH Leuven in Belgium in September 2024, to Excelsior in the Netherlands a year later, and to Asteras Tripolis in January 2026, where he made eight appearances. In June 2026 he moved again, joining FK Vojvodina on a one-year loan for the 2026–27 season, still contracted to Verona.

His international record runs on a separate track. Mitrović played once for Serbia's under-20s and built up 17 caps and six goals for the under-21 side between 2021 and 2024. The senior call came early, in September 2022, when he made his debut against Sweden in the UEFA Nations League. He has ten senior caps and has yet to score at that level.

He can be used as a forward or behind the striker, and no individual awards have been recorded against his name.
