Uba Charles

Charles came through Idol Football Academy in Nigeria before leaving for Sweden in 2021, joining FC Linköping City in the third-tier Ettan. A season later he moved on to Ljungskile SK, still in the Ettan, where he made 28 appearances and scored twice — form that carried him to Lillestrøm SK in 2023 on a free transfer. He spent his early months there with the reserve side in the Norwegian third division before making his Eliteserien debut in April of that year, going on to make 27 league appearances for the club over two seasons. He was an unused substitute when Lillestrøm reached the Norwegian Cup final.

The move that defined his career so far came in March 2025, when he joined Mjällby AIF on loan from Lillestrøm. The loan, initially due to run until July, was extended for the rest of the season, and Charles made 12 Allsvenskan appearances for the club, scoring once — an equaliser against Djurgårdens IF in August 2025. He was part of the Mjällby squad that went on to win the Allsvenskan title that year, the club's first Swedish championship.

In March 2026 he signed for Aalesund, with the club confirming a contract running until the end of 2027. He had made more than a dozen appearances for the Norwegian side by late in the year.

Charles has represented Nigeria at Under-20 level, though he has not yet featured for the senior Super Eagles side.
