About the player
Yllan Okou is a centre-back who came through the AS Monaco academy, joining in 2017 after starting out at Stade Poitevin FC in his native Poitiers and passing through the FFF pôle espoirs in Châteauroux. He spent three seasons with Monaco's reserve side, scoring four goals in 23 appearances, and was promoted to the first-team squad in 2022, though he never made a senior appearance for the club.
His path to regular football came through a move away from Monaco. In October 2023 he joined SC Bastia on a post-window "joker" transfer, agreed for a small fee plus a sell-on percentage. Over two seasons at Bastia he made 24 appearances and scored twice.
In July 2024, Bastia sent him on loan to Hellas Verona with an option to buy attached. The move brought limited game time: Okou featured once for Verona, starting the Coppa Italia tie against Cesena in August 2024, a match Verona lost 1–2, and he did not add a Serie A appearance during the loan spell.
He returned to Bastia at the end of the loan, and in August 2025 he left the French club on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract with RAAL La Louvière in Belgium.
