Yonatan Irrazábal Condines

Yonatan Irrazábal Condines came through the youth ranks at Defensor Sporting, joining as a boy in 2000 and taking eight years to work his way to the senior team. The patience paid off: in the 2007–08 season he was part of the squad that won the Uruguayan Primera División title, and he stayed on as the club's goalkeeper until 2016. Before that breakthrough, he had already worn the Uruguay shirt at youth level, representing the country at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

His closest brush with the senior national team came in November 2020, when he was called into the squad for World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Brazil. He sat on the bench for both matches without getting on the pitch, and a full international debut has not followed.

From Defensor he moved to Cerro in 2016, playing there for two seasons before trying his luck abroad. In January 2019 he signed for Mexican side Tampico Madero, making his debut on 9 January against Puebla in the Copa MX Clausura and going on to make seven appearances that season before returning to Uruguay. Back home, he settled into a run of shorter spells: Rentistas from 2020, Albion FC from January 2022 to January 2023, then a brief stint at Venezuela's Monagas SC, followed by River Plate in Montevideo, where he stayed into 2024. In 2025 the goalkeeper returned to Cerro, the club where he now continues his career.
