Emley finished top of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division in 2023-24.

Both honours belong to the newer Emley. The older one, founded in 1903 as Emley Clarence, took the Yorkshire League title four times, two Northern Counties East League championships and the Sheffield Senior Cup eight times before it moved out of the village in 2000 and became Wakefield FC. AFC Emley was formed in 2005 to carry the game on where the old club had left it.

The Pewits' ground, the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, holds 2,000, with roughly 305 of those seats taken from Huddersfield Town's John Smith's Stadium. Michael Pamment holds the scoring record for the current club, ahead of meetings with Golcar United and Garforth Town.

One line from the old club's history the new one has yet to trouble: a third-round FA Cup tie in 1997-98 that finished 1-1 with West Ham United.
