Al-Adalah

Al-Adalah play in the Saudi Pro League, the top tier they first reached in the summer of 2019 after finishing third in the First Division. Nothing in the club's earlier record pointed that way: before 2001 they had not played in the national league system at all.

That year gave them their only title. The 2000/01 provincial championship for Third Division clubs in Al-Hasa put Al-Adalah into the Saudi Third Division for the first time, and the climb from there took the better part of two decades. Promotion to the First Division came in 2008/09, then again in 2015/16 and 2017/18 — the repetition tells its own story, since each return implied a relegation in between. The side that finally went up in 2018/19 did not travel to make up the numbers, but the pattern of the previous ten years suggested a club that had learned the First Division better than it had learned how to leave it.

The club was founded in 1984 in Al-Hasa, in the eastern province, and is also associated with Al-Hulaylah within the same governorate. Al-Hasa is an oasis — the largest in the country — and the nickname followed from the geography: Fursan Al-Waha, the Knights of the Oasis. The colours are blue and white, though the 2022/23 home shirt was white with maroon.

Home matches are played at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium, a municipal ground shared with other clubs in the region rather than built for this one. Its capacity is 19,550 — more seats than Al-Adalah had spent most of their history playing in front of, and a number that only started to matter once Pro League opposition began arriving in Al-Hasa.
