Altona U19

Adolf Jäger played for Altona, and the ground on Griegstraße carries his name to this day. The Adolf-Jäger-Kampfbahn holds 8,000, though only 1,400 of them sit down, and the U19 side shares it with the seniors — the same terraces, the same black, white and red.

That inheritance sets a level the youth team has spent recent seasons trying to hold. In May 2026 they reached the final of the Lotto Hamburg-Pokal for A-Juniors and ran into HSV's U19, who punished them repeatedly on the way to a 4–1 win.

The same season ended badly in the league. Relegation from the Regionalliga Nord dropped Altona 93 into the Verbandsliga Hamburg, where they began the 2026/27 campaign — two divisions of remove from the football the seniors were playing when they took the Oberliga Hamburg title in 2023/24.

Altona has never been the loudest club in its own district. It is not part of St. Pauli's academy, and it has run its youth football as an amateur operation without ever attaching itself to a larger neighbour. The immediate task is narrower than any of that: win back the Regionalliga place, and give the next group of A-Juniors somewhere higher to play.
