Fernando Torres came up through this dressing room before he ever wore the senior shirt, and he came back to it years later to coach the very team that shaped him. Koke, Saúl Ñíguez, David de Gea, Lucas and Theo Hernández all passed through the same corridors on their way to the first team, which is really what the Juvenil A side is for.

They train and play at the Mini Estadio Cerro del Espino, inside the club's Ciudad Deportiva in Majadahonda, a 3,800-capacity ground with none of the weight of the Metropolitano but all of the club's identity in the red-and-white stripes. Twelve titles in the División de Honor Juvenil since 2001 say the pipeline has rarely dried up, and three domestic doubles — the league won alongside the Copa de Campeones Juvenil in 2001–02, 2017–18 and 2023–24 — mark the seasons when that generation was simply better than everyone else in Spain.

Europe has been a harder ceiling to break. Three Quarter-final runs in the UEFA Youth League, the last of them ended by Ajax on penalties in 2019–20, are as far as the club has gone at continental level. Closer to home, the fixture that still sharpens attention every season is the Derby Madrileño against Real Madrid's youth side, a match these teenagers inherit with the rivalry already fully formed. The current group carries on chasing the next league title with that same expectation attached — that whoever is best here is being watched for what comes after.
