Bandeirante SP

Bandeirante's sharpest rivalries both sit close to home. Against Araçatuba's AEA, the meeting carries enough weight of its own to have a name, the Clássico Noroestino. Against Penapolense, it becomes the Clássico das Feras, a derby that turns the two clubs' own nicknames into the storyline — the Lion of the Northwest against the Panther of the Northwest.

The club was formed in Birigui on 11 March 1923, though it waited until 1948 to enter professional competition, joining the old Segunda Divisão. Titles came slowly after that: Série A4 champions in 1963, then Série A2 in 1986, a result that carried Bandeirante into the state's top flight for the first time. The stay lasted one season — 1987 ended in relegation from last place, later wiped from the record when the São Paulo federation annulled every relegation between 1987 and 1991. A runners-up finish in Série A3 followed in 1995, and in 2001 Bandeirante beat União Barbarense in the final to win the Copa Paulista.

The years after that pulled the other way: relegation to Série A3 in 2008, then to Série A4 in 2010, and in 2017 the club sat out competition altogether under financial strain. It returned in 2018 once the finances were restructured and the stadium repaired, reached Série A3 again in 2020, and lost that year's final to São José. It has stayed in that division since, closer to the relegation zone than to the top in most seasons.

Paulinho McLaren came through Bandeirante's ranks before moving on to Santos, then returned to coach the club in 2022 and 2023. Polozzi passed through on his way to Palmeiras and the Brazil national team.

Home games are played at the Estádio Municipal Pedro Marin Berbel, known locally as the Pedrão, built in 1983 and holding 8,240. It replaced the old Roberto Clark ground, sold at auction over unpaid debts and demolished in 2016.
