Chartres

Elohim Prandi spent his early seasons on the pôle espoirs at Chartres before moving on to a France cap and a career at PSG — his father Raoul, once a French international himself, coached the club's youth set-up a couple of years earlier.

That section grew out of Club Sportif de Mainvilliers, and the name has shifted with it ever since: Mainvilliers-Chartres, then Chartres Mainvilliers, then Chartres Métropole HB 28, before settling on C' Chartres Métropole Handball in 2018. The club turned professional in 2011, the same year it topped Nationale 1, and between 2005 and 2007 it had already climbed from Nationale 3 to Nationale 1. Promotion to the top flight, Division 1, came in 2015, but the stay lasted one year before relegation sent them back down; they returned as Division 2 champions in 2019.

For most of that climb the team played in front of barely 1,200 people at Halle Jean-Cochet. The move to Le Colisée, which holds close to 4,000, came in April 2024 and lined up with the club's latest spell in the top division. Ghennadii Solomon took over as president of the professional company that same year.

Cup runs have stayed modest by comparison: a run to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France in 2021–22 remains the high point there. There is no single fixture that carries the weight of a derby, but matches against Ivry, Tremblay-en-France and Dunkerque Grand Littoral are the ones that tend to sharpen attention.
