Club Athlétique Bizertin

The African Cup Winners' Cup, lifted in 1988, still stands apart in Bizerte's history. At home, the championship came four times, twice in successive seasons just after the Second World War, in 1945 and 1946, and once more in 1949, before a longer wait ended with the title in 1984. The Tunisian Cup followed in 1982, 1987 and again in 2013.

The club had already been relegated once, in 1963, and came back up the following year; the same pattern repeated in 1989 and 1990, when Club Athlétique Bizertin won the second division and then finished as runners-up in the top flight in 1990 and again in 1999. Rashidi Yekini wore the yellow and black in the early 1990s. Hassen Béjaoui, a goalkeeper capped for Tunisia, holds the club's appearance record.

Games against Club Africain carry the weight of the fixture list here, a derby with no love lost, alongside meetings with Espérance de Tunis. The team from Bizerte grew out of a wish, in the summer of 1927, to give the city a sports club of its own; legal recognition followed the next year, in June 1928.

The 15 October Stadium holds 20,000, in a port city on Tunisia's northern coast that gave the club its nickname, Les Requins du Nord — the Northern Sharks.
