Coca-Cola

Mohamed Ali stood between the posts as club captain in the years when the shirt still carried the Coca-Cola name, and he did not get to see what the promotion he helped earn led to: a career-ending injury took him off the pitch shortly after the club went up. That side, playing in blue and white rather than the sponsor's own red, had come up through the 2020–21 Second Division, with El-Entag El-Harby as its sharpest rival along the way and Al-Tarana beaten in the playoff that sealed the move upward. Mohamed Yasser scored the goal that decided it.

The club had been set up in Cairo in 2011 under the Coca-Cola company's Egyptian arm. Ownership changed hands on 2 September 2021, when Future Company for Sports Investments bought the club and it became Future FC. Two further renamings followed: Modern Future FC from 22 August 2023, then Modern Sport FC, adopted on 27 May 2024 and worn on the pitch from 2 July that year.

The one trophy the club has to show came in between those changes of name, in 2022, when it lifted the Egyptian League Cup in its revived first edition, beating Ghazl El Mahalla 5-1 in the final. Players who came through under the Future and Modern Sport identities, among them Mohamed Reda "Bobo" and Mahmoud Merghi, went on to be capped by the Egyptian national team.

Home matches are played before 30,000 at Al Salam Stadium, but the club's identity still traces back to a goalkeeper who lost his career just as the team he captained reached the division it had been chasing.
