Filip Kostić came through here, and so did Aleksandar Mitrović, Andrija Živković and Strahinja Pavlović — at Crvena Zvezda the academy has never been a separate idea from the club itself. It grew inside SD Crvena Zvezda from the day the multi-sport society was formed on 4 March 1945.
The Omladinska škola trains and plays with one fixture circled above the rest: the Omladinski večiti derbi, the youth version of the derby against Partizan.
What the boys are chasing is written into the walls of that stadium. The senior team has taken the European Cup once, in 1991, then backed it up with the Intercontinental Cup the same year. Domestically the club has stacked 38 league titles and 32 cups.
