CSU Suceava built its identity on those matches rather than on silverware: the club, tied to Ștefan cel Mare University and known regionally as Zimbrul after the wisent on the city's coat of arms, has never lifted the Liga Națională, the Romanian Cup or the Super Cup.

What the club has produced is players. Petru Ghervan shaped that pipeline in the club's early years; Vasile Boca later took junior teams to national titles, including the Junior III championship in 2019.

Senior results have occasionally matched the youth output. In 2009, CSU Suceava reached the final of the EHF Challenge Cup, since it was founded in 2002. Matches are played at Sala LPS, a 450-seat hall.

Bogdan Șoldănescu took over as head coach for the 2025–2026 season.
