Dalmatinka has never reached the top flight of Croatian women's handball, and its honours board is built instead from the tiers below it: the Second Division South in 1993/94, three Regional League South titles through the 1980s, and five Third Division championships between 2007/08 and 2017/18, the last of them coming in 2017/18. None carried the club into the top league, but each kept it circulating through the divisions that feed it, and in 2024 the pattern repeated itself a level down, when the club's under-15 side took the national championship.

The club did not start out as Dalmatinka at all. It was formed in Ploče in 1978 under the name Azbest, changed to Kartonplast soon after, then became Dalmacija before settling on Dalmatinka only in 2000/01.

What Ploče has produced more consistently than trophies is players who moved on to the national team. Dalija Erceg and Valentina Blažević both came through the club before wearing Croatia's colours.
