Podravka Women Cro

The club had gone by other names before it settled into hers and the crowd's: it started out in 1955 as "Ivo Marinković," playing its first match that December against Grafičar Bjelovar, switched to "RK Partizan" the following year, and only became "RK Podravka" in 1964, once the local food company had taken it on. That backing eventually produced the club's defining season, 1995–96, when Podravka won the EHF Champions League a year after finishing runners-up in the same competition, and followed it with the EHF Champions Trophy in 1996.

Domestically almost nothing has stood in the way. Podravka has taken the Croatian league title 28 times and the Croatian Cup 28 times as well, a habit of winning that predates the country itself: under Yugoslavia the club was already champion, in 1966 and 1967.

The derby that matters is against RK Lokomotiva Zagreb, and in Croatian women's handball there is no other fixture that carries the word "derbi" the way theirs does.
